The caption reads: ‘A 5ft statue of a Hindu Goddess was the centrepiece of a festival at Lambeth Town Hall [London] at the weekend. Our picture shows Bula Chakravarty (17) decorating the figure which was specially flown in from Calcutta for the Saraswati Puja festival, an annual event dedicated to the Hindu goddess of learning’.
